I have an interest in family names and ancestry, and I take pride in mine. I'm part Irish, Scottish, English, Dutch and Swedish, and my family name is of Irish origin. According to the Historical Research Center, it's a form of the name "Arrell", which is an anglicization of the Irish name "O'hEarghaill", which meant "man of valor".
